'Peter Manschot' Fund

The 'Peter Manschot' fund was named after the first Dutch trainer of the Family Medicine training in Eldoret.

Peter Manschot died a few months after his return from a half year teaching the first group of FM-registrars in Moi-University. His wife Leny Manschot is treasurer of the fund.

The fund accepts gifts and assigned money donated to promote Family Medicine training programs in low resource countries. The  focus is on capacity building i.e. supportig students, help with staff/ faculty for the training, help with organising training courses and stimulating research

The training requires a continuous input of money for the students to live, for the trainers to be paid and for materials, transport and overhead/ ICT. Since Kenya is not a preferred donor country and is not receiving money anymore from the Dutch Government it is difficult to assure a healthy funding of the training. The success of the training depends on gifts and the voluntary input of many people, who go out to teach and coach only on travel and living expenses.

Every gift is welcome: 49.3776.664 ABN-Amro. Hoevelaken
